It has been reported that 25 people have died in the eastern zone of Tigray region this winter alone due to floods caused by heavy rains.
In the various districts of the zone from the month of June to the 22nd of August. 25 people and 170 animals died; Tigra Television reported that the zone announced that 1,713 hectares of cultivated land had been damaged.
The report also indicated that 297 houses were destroyed due to the flood.
According to the Ethiopian National Institute of Meteorology, heavy rains may continue to fall, so the community should take appropriate precautions.
