The East African Development Authority (IGAD) will work to strengthen its partnership with local countries national media organizations, said Dr. Workneh Gebeyew.
The chief secretary of EGAD pointed out that the mass media has a great impact in leading the ideas and translating them to one line, so the media has a role in deciding the opportunity of a community, people or a country.
Many people living in the area have pointed out that they still use radio, television and newspapers as their main source of information.
Following this, media organizations found in the member countries have stated that they have been working to bring peace and stability, good governance and sustainable development in the region.
These media organizations have asked them to continue their positive contribution and EGAD also said that they will continue to strengthen the partnership with the organizations.
