It was reported that the overall inflation rate for the month of June has decreased to 29 percent.
According to the consumer price index published by the Ethiopian Statistics Service based on 119 selected marketplaces in the country, the inflation of non-food items reached 31.4 percent in June.
The annual general inflation rate for June was 29.3 percent, while the general inflation rate for May was 30.8 percent. In the 2015 fiscal year, the general inflation rate increased by an average of 2.2 percent every month, the report shows.
Although a report has been released stating that the inflation recorded at the numerical level has been showing a slight decrease in the last two or three months, except for the moderate decrease in the prices of limited food and non-food items, the price increase is resuming, especially in non-food items.
