A South Korean citizen has been arrested in Russia on suspicion of espionage, Seoul's foreign ministry announced, UPI reported.
The detainee has been identified as Park Wan-sun and has been sent to Moscow for interrogation.
It is the first time that Russia has arrested a South Korean on suspicion of criminal activity.
South Korea has been labeled an "unfriendly" country by Russia for supporting Western sanctions over Russia's war with Ukraine.
