Addis Ababa city administration is a part of property tax that is improved and is proposed to earn up to 6 billion birr a year.
According to the new budget of the Addis Ababa Revenue Office Mr. Nur Adem, according to the new budget on the improved housing tax, it is considered that the city administration will get 5-to-6-billion-birr additional income per year from the concerned houses in the city.
Mr. Adem, who has remembered that the city administration has been collecting 47 million birr from house tax, which shows that the administration has a share of only 0.08 percent of the tax collected from the house tax.
The collection is from more than 891 thousand homes.
It has been said that there are 1.02 million houses in the city and that the tax of Kebele and government houses is not applicable.
