Addis Ababa City Administration Civil Registration and Residency Service Agency has announced that all residents will enter the digital ID system except for the door-to-door services provided to those with health problems.
The director general of the agency, Mr. Yonas Alemayehu, said that the cards that were previously used for registration of important events such as birth, death and so on have been completely changed.
In addition to this, this modern technology called "security printer" bought from the American country is in use. They called it the first printer in East Africa and Ethiopia.
They stated that the cards worth more than 25 million birr, including those that are not in use, have been removed and a replacement publication has been printed and distributed, according to the Ethiopian Press Organization.
