Ministry of Transport and Logistics announced that 48 thousand electric buses are being put into operation in Ethiopia within 10 years.
The minister also said that he is working on putting 148 thousand cars into operation in a decade.
He also stated that he is working on expanding the range of electric vehicles.
The expansion of electric vehicles is being made to free the transport sector from fuel dependence and it is said to reduce the foreign exchange of Ethiopia for fuel.
It is indicated that the government's tax incentive to expand electric vehicles will greatly help the sector.
