The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) has announced that it has allocated 17 million dollars to address the worsening food security crisis in Ethiopia.
Martin Griffiths, the Office's Emergency Assistance Coordinator, said the money will be used for Afar, Amara and Tigray areas that are suffering from drought caused by climate change.
As the drought worsens, it is estimated that more than 10 million people across Ethiopia are in need of food aid, the bureau announced in a statement on its website.
