The power was interrupted due to the breakdown of the 230 kV high power transmission line extending from Bahr Dar - Debretabor - Wind Exit - Gashena - Alamata.

Today, February 26, 2016, it has been reported that the power transmission line from Wind-Gashena-Alamata-Mhoni-Mekele has been cut off due to the breakdown of one of the power transmission lines in the area of Wind Exit.

At the same time, the power line in Debre Berhan - Shewarobit - Kombolcha was broken near the city of Showa Robit, and most of the northeastern areas of the country, except for the cities of Showa Robit and Misse, were also cut off, the institute announced.

Ethiopia's electric power said on its social networking page that most of the cities, including Madina Semera of Afar region and various zones and districts of the region, as well as Madina Mekele of Tigray region, which were getting power from Woldia Alamata line, which were getting power from Kombolcha through Bati, have been cut off.
