The athletics team that participated in the Glasgow World Indoor Championship entered Addis Ababa.
At the 19th World Indoor Championships, the Ethiopian Athletics Ambassador, who finished first in Africa and fifth in the world, was welcomed when he arrived at Addis Ababa Airport.
At the reception, E.F.D.R. Minister of Culture and Sports Ministry of Sports Development Sector Mr. State Ambassador Mesfen Chernet and Ethiopian Athletics Federation President R/Commissioner Derartu Tulu and other athletic families were present.
In the championship, Ethiopia won the gold medal in the women's 800 meters by Tsge Duguma and the women's 1500 meters by Freweini Hailu.
Gudaf Tsagaye won a silver medal in the women's 3000-meter race and Solomon Gerega won a bronze medal in the men's 3000-meter race.
In this championship, Ethiopia won two gold, one bronze, and one silver medal in total, finishing first in Africa and fifth in the world in the medal table.
