Coal Refinery of ET Mining Development Co., Ltd. will start operation soon.
It is said that the factory has a production capacity of 150 tons per hour and 3,600 tons of washed coal per day.
When fully operational, it is said to have the capacity to cover 75 percent of the washed coal needs of cement factories in Ethiopia.
The permanent workers at the factory have been trained and trial works have been started, and it was announced that they will soon graduate and start work, Press Organization reported.
Although Ethiopia has sufficient coal mines, it is known that it buys and imports washed coal with foreign currency due to the lack of a coal refinery.
