The Ministry of Revenue announced that contraband goods with an estimated value of more than 21 million birr were seized by Jigjiga Customs.
The ministry said on its social page that the smuggled goods originated in the neighboring country of Somalia and were arrested while entering the city of Jigjiga without any customs formalities.
