"More than 50,000 citizens have been displaced," United Nations

More than 50 thousand citizens have been displaced due to the security crisis in the northern part of Ethiopia.

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) is located in Mekane Dru.

In a report issued on Monday, the institution pointed out that the situation of displaced citizens in North Wolo and Wagkhmra ethnic zones due to the security crisis in Raya Alamata, Zata and Ofla districts is alarming.

Women and children in particular need extensive humanitarian support to survive, Ocha said in the report.
